CHRISTINE MOLINA, M.D.

Initially drawn to Reno for its outdoor lifestyle and interest in academic psychiatry, Dr. Molina joined the faculty at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Reno (UNR), as Assistant Professor, clinical instructor for residents & Clerkship Co-Director and didactic instructor for medical student education.  Her clinical experiences in Reno include working at UNR’s Student Health Center and as the psychiatrist of an intensive outpatient clinic for high recidivism patients at Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS), from 2017-2019.  Upon leaving UNR, for private practice, she joined Reno Psychiatric Associates, seeing patients from  2019-2021, until leaving group practice to open her own private practice, Sierra Integrative Psychiatric Clinic, LLC in April 2021. 


Dr. Molina completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of California, Irvine, and earned her medical degree at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine.  She chose Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, to complete her residency training in general psychiatry, with the additional benefit of receiving clinical and didactic training in psychodynamic therapy, earning over 450 therapy hours.

 

Altogether, her education and clinical experiences have introduced her to many unique and resilient patient populations, such as those on social security disability, working professionals, veterans, active duty military members and their dependents, victims of human trafficking, LGBTQ+ individuals, students, and the intellectual and developmental disability population, co-occurring substance use disorders, and specializes in treating a wide variety of psychiatric conditions, within these special populations.
